Hello!
I am Layton Scarbrough, an award-winning children's book author-illustrator and mural artist based in Virginia. I graduated with my B.F.A. in Illustration from Utah Valley University in 2020.

When I'm not drawing or writing, you can usually find me throwing a frisbee with my furry friend, Winston. If I'm not there then I am most likely on a run or in the mountains with my beautiful wife.
Illustration Clients
Throughout the last several years I have had the pleasure of working and collaborating artistically with companies, publications, musicians, and celebrities from all over the world.
I have worked on advertising campaigns and created promotional imagery for companies such as Aviation American Gin, Universal Pictures, iHeart Radio, and several others.

I have painted murals across the country and continue painting and designing large scale artwork for companies, schools, and cities.

My most recent picture book, Cortell, debuted at #1 on Amazon's New Release list for September of 2024.

No Sleep Night, written by Christopher Thelin and illustrated by yours truly debuted on Amazon's Hot New Releases list in April of 2022.

In 2023, I was awarded 2nd Place for my illustration portfolio at the Florida Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Conference.

In 2025, I partnered with NOWArt and Walmart and have been creating murals for the Community Mural Program. You can find my murals at Walmart stores in Thomasville, AL / Norfolk, VA / Blackstone, VA / Ashland, VA / Cullman, AL.
